TITLE: Dragon

MEDIUM: Digital; Photoshop CS, Wacom Intuos 3 tablet.

ABOUT THE PIECE:

Here's a painting I've grown to hate. Why? because it was just a simple little 1 hour doodle-- not a serious effort what so ever-- and for some reason-- it has sky-rocketed to over 3,000,000 views on youtube (as of this posting). But I hate it for a couple of reasons... First-- It's one of those weird tangent pieces that is supposed to depict forced perspective. Some see it, some don't.

But if you poke through the comments, every so often you get a comment about the bottom jaw being TOO BIG. And then you get others who see it as just fine, and can totally see what I saw in my head when I made it... Art is so subjective... The opinions of whether or not this is correct perspective is split right down the middle.

Anyhow... I leave it up cuz of the insane amount of hits it gets... But part of me wants to take it down since it's probably a bad representation of what I really can do.

As far as the jaw goes-- it still looks fine to me. I even did a 3D model of it, and was going to post an animated version of this painting and put it up on youtube, but never finished it. There is however, a WIP vid of it here:

Part of me does like the debating of the jaw... It truly shows how all of our perspectives in how we see things truly differs from one another. And I mean beyond art even.

Anyway... Enjoy it. Hate it. Pick it apart.. Whatever... It's fine with me
